Hi, I'm Master Kara Mitchell, Chief Instructor at AEGIS Leeds South

Martial arts has changed my life for the better in so many ways and it's my goal to pass those same benefits to all my students, no matter their age or ability.

As a teenager, I took up Tae-Kwon Do which I absolutely loved, but never got back into it once I moved away to university here in Leeds.

​

I began my AEGIS journey in 2012 as a student at the West Leeds AEGIS academy. My original goals were to improve my confidence, maintain my fitness levels and also know I had the skills to defend myself should the need ever arise.

​

I quickly re-discovered that the passion I had for the martial arts as a teen, and after 3 years of training as a student, I was invited to join the AEGIS Certified Instructor Training program and train as an instructor.  

​

Since running AEGIS Leeds South, I've seen how martial arts training can benefit people of all ages, and I look forward to helping many more in the years to come.
